We are so excited to share our organic matcha latte recipe and to show you our favorite ways to use our homemade almond milk. Making a matcha is somewhat a labor of love, especially when it’s the first thing you do in the morning. Rest assured, it’s very worth it and not too hard once you’ve made a few.

Matcha is an amazing source of so many beneficial compounds, such as antioxidants, polyphenols, L-Theanine and naturally occuring caffeine and has been proven to boost brain function. The researchers found that matcha caused improvements in attention, reaction time, and memory, compared to the placebo. This is due to the effect of caffeine that’s then balanced out by L-theanine to reduce the “caffeine jitters” commonly associated with high caffeine beverages, resulting in an alert, yet calm state of mind.

The down side to this recipe is it requires some odd kitchen tools. The bamboo whisk is essential for a smooth and rich matcha latte. Also, having a device that can froth milk will make the final product taste so good, you’d think you’re drinking it from a matcha cafe on Abbott Kinney.

Also, using your homemade almond milk with this recipe will result in the best matcha latte you’ve ever had, and probably ever will have!

Ingredients

Organic Matcha green Tea (Buy this great Matcha Tea)

Organic Honey

Homemade Almond Milk

Hot Water (175° f)

Matcha Paste

The most important part of making a matcha latte is the whisking process. Without whisking, the tea powder will clump up and it won’t be a good experience. When you whisk, you’re actually making a matcha paste by adding the 1 TSP of matcha powder to 1 TBSP of water. This paste will dissolve in the hot water beautifully and will leave you with a smooth and clean sipping experience.
