How does skin tightening work?
The Palomar LuxIR Fractional Infrared hand piece delivers infrared light deep into the dermis. This light causes soft tissue coagulation, which leads to remodeling of the collagen within the dermis. The remodeled collagen results in overall skin tightening.
What makes these treatments different from others?
Rather than using one large beam to deliver infrared light into the skin, the LuxIR uses the "Fractional" approach: delivering an array of small beams. Each beam creates a heated column in the dermis, which is surrounded by an unaffected area. The unaffected tissue stimulates quicker collagen remodeling, and faster healing.
Are these treatments safe? Are they painful?
The LuxIR Fractional method is much safer and more comfortable than the bulk heating approach of many other systems because it leaves so much of the skin unaffected by the light pulses. The LuxIR also uses 3-stage cooling. It cools the skin before, during and after each light pulse, so you feel little discomfort during treatment.
What should I expect after treatment?
You may experience lingering warmth, tightness, or redness in the treated area, which fades within a few hours of treatment. Because so much of the skin is unaffected by the light pulses, there is a quick healing process. Generally, you can receive a treatment and go back to work or to other activities without any recovery time.
A series of 4-6 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired result of smoother, tighter skin in the face, arms, abdomen, and other areas.
How does StarLux Fractional Skin Resurfacing System work?
The Palomar Lux1540 Fractional Laser hand piece delivers light in an array of narrow, focused "microbeams", to create columns of coagulation (heat) within the skin. The heated tissue within the columns initiates a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. This results in a fresher, more youthful skin tone and texture.
What areas can I have treated?
StarLux Fractional treatments can be applied to most areas of the body, including the face, chest, arms, and hands.
What makes StarLux Fractional treatments different from other skin resurfacing methods?
Some skin resurfacing devices, such as CO2 lasers, use the ablative method, which removes the epidermis and some of the dermis. While good results are eventually seen, the drawbacks include red and raw skin, and a risk of infection for several weeks after treatment.
Other devices use the non-ablative method: sending light pulses into the dermis, while leaving the epidermis intact. This allows quick recovery, but when the light pulses don't penetrate far into the dermis, the change in skin tone and texture is less effective.
StarLux Fractional Skin Resurfacing offers both superior results and no downtime. The Lux1540 beams penetrate deeper into the dermis than competing devices for effective, long-term results. And the Fractional, non-ablative approach stimulates quick healing in the dermis, while leaving the epidermis intact, with no lasting redness.
Are these treatments safe? Are they painful?
By delivering light as individual pulses of microbeams, the Lux 1540 protects the skin from the overheating that can result from many other resurfacing treatments. In addition, the Lux1540 features built-in cooling of the skin, so you feel only minor discomfort during treatment.
What should I expect after treatment?
Because the light pulses are confine to narrow columns in the skin, much of the skin is left unaffected and there is a quick healing process. Most people notice positive changes in skin tone and texture within a few days. A series of treatments at 3-6 week intervals may be required to achieve the desired results.
We all want clear skin, but nature has a way of sabotaging us with frustrating imperfections, especially as we age and sun damage accumulates. Fortunately, skin rejuvenation has advanced beyond the painful procedures of the past. The Palomar Rejuvelux process offers comfortable and effective photofacials for the treatment of sun damage and visible veins.
How does Palomar pulsed light work?
The Palomar RejuveLux hand pieces emit pulses of concentrated light into the skin. The light is absorbed by the pigment in sunspots and the blood in visible vessels, and converted to heat. The heat dissolves the cells that create the pigment and shrinks the vessels. Photofacials clear:
How is Palomar pulsed light different from a laser?
Pulsed light systems and lasers are very similar, but Palomar Pulsed Light Systems use a much larger treatment window than most lasers. This spreads light over a wider area of skin and allows faster coverage of the skin and quicker treatments as a result.
The Rejuvelux process provides the most skin-safe, comfortable, and effective photofacials available, without any downtime. Rejuveluxe appointments are quick, and you can return to work or other activities - looking and feeling fine!
If you live with unwanted hair, you've probably tried some of the typical solutions, such as shaving, waxing, and electrolysis. If so, you've also found that shaving is a daily nuisance. Waxing is painful and only a short-term solution. Electrolysis is effective, but since it only treats one hair follicle at a time, it's not practical for large areas and is extremely time-consuming. Palomar pulsed light systems offer a lasting solution for unwanted hair.
How does Palomar pulsed light work?
The Palomar hair removal hand pieces emit pulses of light into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.
What body areas can I get treated?
Any area that grows hair, except around the eyes. The upper lip, face, neck, underarms, bikini, lets, chest, back, feet, hands, ears, abdomen and more.
What are Palomar Hair Reduction treatments like?
Your treatment provider will move the hand piece over your skin, pulsing it all the while. Each pulse will send a beam of light through your skin. A flashing light, and audible tone, and a mild sensation on the skin will tell you when the hand piece is being pulsed.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies since at any given time, some of your hair is not in a phase of active growth. Therefore you will need more than one treatment to affect the growth of all your unwanted hair. Typically several treatments will be necessary to achieve permanent hair reduction.
