Miraculous Thermography!!!

Women! Let’s examine our breasts with complete safety, not only for detection of suspicious cancer areas, but also to indicate the all over health of your breasts. Are your breasts inflamed, which could lead to future cancers? Inflammation, known to be responsible for ninety percent of all cancers, is one of the parameters detected on a thermogram. The main causes of inflammation are poor digestion, problems with fillings and root canals, undetected viruses and parasites, food allergies, high blood sugar, excess body fat and healthy estrogens that in some cases break down in unhealthy ways. Additional causes of breast cancer are toxicity, radiation exposure, and lack of protective antioxidants. The Hall Center can work with you to detect and correct these areas, believing of course, that it is much better to prevent breast cancer and cancer in general, than to detect it. Thermography is the only technique that offers both prevention as well as detection.

Thermography has an excellent track record, with many years of research and data behind the technology, including a large study from USC. I feel that this technology is now proven as a very effective and safe way to annually or bi-annually screen our breasts. Patients who have prior breast cancer, the gene for breast cancer or breast cancer in the family can with complete safety image their breasts two times a year, whereas repeated mammographic radiation imaging of some of these higher risk patients has been reported to actually increase the risk of breast cancer. I have been concerned about the accumulative effects of yearly radiation from mammograms in general, and feel relief that we now can offer a completely safe, alternative technology.

To perform the test, the patient stands in front of a sophisticated far infrared camera for a few minutes, while the camera “reads” the heat waves emanating from the breast. Photographs of the breast heat patterns are taken, in exactly the same way that photographs of any object can be taken. Nothing penetrates or affects the breast in any way, just like the object having it’s picture taken is not affected by the photograph. The photographs are sent via computer to Dr. Bill Cockburn to read, who is a recognized leader and expert in the field of thermography. We are extremely grateful to him for providing his top expertise to our patients.

I want to assure patients that I don’t think mammography should be eliminated, nor should MRIs and breast ultrasounds, as these tools are also helpful in detection of breast cancer and are needed to tell the surgeon where a biopsy should be performed. Indeed, the “standard of care” in the community, is still to have breast mammograhy every year after fifty, and every one to two years in your forties. Be aware though, that when I receive mammogram reports, radiologists also include the standard disclaimer that mammograms will fail to detect a full fifteen percent of breast cancer. This is why I always encourage patients to do a sonogram of their breast as well as a mammogram for routine screening, if they choose to go the more traditional route.

I apologize for the price of thermography, which is $350 dollars, but this technology uses sophisticated computer and camera technology, and includes Dr Cockburn’s reading. To compare with a more traditional approach, screening breast ultrasounds are not covered by insurance companies either, and cost between $150 dollars to $300 dollars, as well as the added price of mammography.

The Hall Center’s favorite breast cancer prevention tips:

Obtain your ideal body weight. Being overweight increases breast cancer by up to forty percent. Let us help you with this!

Limit your consumption of sugar and refined carbohydrates. Keep you Hgb AIC blood test at 5.0 or below. This indicates that you are not glycating (sugar coating) your cells.

Limit you alcohol consumption to a glass or two per day; red wine is best as it contains resveratrol for anti-inflammatory protection.

Drink green or Roboois teas which both have good amounts of antioxidants.

At menopause, replace your hormones with bioidentical estrogens, and let us monitor the break down with the 24 hour urine test. Estrogen helps to turn off inflammation, which causes ninety percent of cancers.

Supplements to prevent breast cancer that we love are: iodine, curcumen, Dimm, egcg and resveratrol, as well as general antioxidants.
